Hervé Bohnert

He starts from objects that already carry a history: old sculptures, crucifixes, found photographs, fragments of wood, furniture gleaned over time. He takes them up, modifies them and tips them toward another reading, without erasing the traces of time. Death, memory and the sacred return in his work, with a discreet humor. His work has been shown at the Halle Saint-Pierre, at La Maison Rouge – Fondation Antoine de Galbert, at the Musée Würth in Erstein and at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nancy.
